Tuesday Tour beginning with the walled city of St Malo

First stop was to a local home to meet our guide for the day and learn the history of the town.

Look at the different architecture. Around 60% of the town was destroyed when the US bombed it during WWII, based on intel that 8,000 German troops were stationed there. Many solo standing walls were added on to for a new building.

We encountered this vehicle several times during the morning. You may see us on Google Earth one day,

This is not part of the original wall. The original wall connected to the rounded structure on the right.

This is one of many forts built on nearby islands.

We rode by bus to the town of St Suliac. Notice the thatch roof!

Flowers everywhere. There are even some that spring up from between the cobblestones up against the houses.

This is the alter in the St Suliac Parish Church.

This used to be above the alter. Around 100 years ago, it was stolen. It was found in an antique shop. The townspeople raised the money to buy it and bring it home.

The town of St Suliac was once a great fishing village, There are several fishing boats in the church.

We are now in the medieval town of Dinan.

There are several buildings that have this architecture. They don't blend in at all!

This is the Basilica Saint Sauveur in the city of Dinan,

The alter in the Basilica. Quite detailed!
